Recently, the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China (ISTIC) held the 2025 China Scientific and Technological Papers Statistics Conference in Beijing, where the Catalogue of Chinese S&T Core Journals (2025 Edition) was officially released. Power Generation Technology has been indexed in Chinese S&T Core Journals for the fifth consecutive year (2021–2025).

Compiled by ISTIC using scientific and objective methodologies and evaluation criteria, the Catalogue of Chinese S&T Core Journals is selected through a rigorous process of peer review and quantitative assessment. It comprises leading S&T journals across various disciplines in China that represent the development level of their respective fields. The catalogue is updated annually on a dynamic basis to comprehensively and scientifically reflect the academic standing of journals.

This renewed inclusion represents a strong endorsement of the academic quality of Power Generation Technology.
